STARBOUND HOW TO MAKE CUSTOM WEAPONS INSTALL

I removed the muzzleflash on this weapon because it looked better for what it was supposed to be than the default muzzleflash. This will remove the sprite of the original weapon. Rather, make sure that you replace any parts (barrel, middle, butt, you get the idea) with 'assetmissing.png.' This is a blank image the game uses when an item is registered, but the game doesn't know what sprite to give it. Now what you need to do is go into 'animationParts' and set them all like this: What we're going to modify is 'animationParts' and 'animationCustom.' 'baseOffset' can be changed, but you don't have to as all it will do is re-position the entire set of parts for the sprite. What we're going to need are the ones at the top of the window:Дon't worry about 'baseOffset' or 'animation' because those wont be changed either. I don't know how to make it show the description instead. The Iron Assault rifle is one of the guns that does that because the damage and energy cost overwrite it. Some of the things in here should be self-explanatory like how 'description' is the item description or how 'shortDescription' is the item name.ДЄs for the description, sometimes this wont show up in-game based on what item you used as your custom gun base. So now you'll get to see me tear it apart. Obviously this is something I already completed, it's the HL pistol. If you use one from in-game, then it won't have everything you need to edit. Once you've added it to your inventory, double click on it to bring up the item's properties. I tend to use the iron assault rifle for not reason in particular. First off, for the way I do it, you need to start by getting one of the tiered or non-randomly generated guns. Just pick the character from the list that you're trying to make inventory edits to, it doesn't matter for what I'm talking about. Once it opens there will be two windows, one larger one and one smaller one which should list off all characters you have in your starbound storage folder. It'll take awhile to actually load up (a VERY long while unfortunately), so you'll have to wait before you can load up any of your characters.

Oh, and one last thing, I sadly do not know how to edit the position which the projectile leaves the weapon from. Now then, for the actual guide, I'm going to be taking a couple screenshots and simply pointing some things out in each one with an existing weapon, there are plenty of things I don't know how to do, so don't expect to be able to do anything super crazy, this is just for getting your custom drawables and projectiles in place (fire sounds too, you get the idea).
